Hello friends and welcome back!
Today we are going to take a peek at how to simply and easily decorate a tree with minimal ornaments so it can
be less work for you but look just as beautiful in the end!
We also wanted to show off our present wrapping ideas that we just absolutely fell in love with!
We started with making dehydrated orange slices to string together and put on our tree. At the Refined
Space we like pieces that are sustainable and environmentally friendly. So these orange slices were a no
brainer for us! At the end of the season they can go in the compost and help cut down on the amount
of garbage that the Christmas season can bring.
For the orange slices:
1. Wash your oranges well
2. Get a sharp knife and slice them about 1/4 of an inch thick
3. Make sure you take out any seeds if there are any!
4. Preheat your oven to 250F
5. Place them on a large baking sheet or rack
6. Leave for 2-3 hours, making sure you're checking on them and potentially flipping them if need be
7. Take them out and let them cool and dry out for a full day or two, there should be no hint of moisture!
8. Voila! Hang them however you want to after this!
After we were finished with our oranges, we threw them up on the tree and loved how the orange
and green looked together! We also ended up stringing them and hanging them around the room! When the
light shines through the slices, they look fantastic!
Next we stopped in at Confetti Florals to pick up these beautiful olive leaves for our Christmas wrapping.
We also grabbed champagne, black, and grey ribbon, white craft paper, and this beige cord for
our finishing touches!
We got straight to work with our wrapping and we are thrilled with how it turned out! Simple, easy, and best of all,
you can recycle all of the craft paper right after! Take a look for yourselves!
Here at the Refined Space, we are passionate about finding timeless pieces that are versatile and sustainable.
So remember this Christmas that you just need a few key pieces for your house to look amazing.
This way you don't break the bank, and also have pieces you can use for future events. That's why we opted
for our orange slice garland! They are inexpensive and compostable, and if you wanted, you could jar them
up after and have a bright decoration for your shelves. We choose neutrals so that every year we can pull our
ornaments and freshen them up with a couple new touches, but love them all over again!
We hope you feel the same!
We loved beginning our decorating! If you try any of these out, make sure you comment and
tell us how it went for you!
Let the holiday festivities begin!
